Located on Greater Mack Avenue in Saint Clair Shores, MI.., The ProMedica Grosse Pointe Woods Building received interior renovations of the basement, first and second floors.
The scope of work included minor alterations to the basement level, including new flooring, cabinetry, and plumbing fixtures in the employee break room. Work on the first floor involved new flooring, paint, wallpaper, and one-for-one replacements of handrails, crash rails, light fixtures and millwork. Three shower rooms on both the first and second floors received new floor tile, wall tile, and light fixtures, in addition to one-for-one replacements of all plumbing fixtures and shower curtains.
Overcoming Challenges
Demolition of the current space revealed existing conditions that required more work than was originally accounted for. This greatly altered the overall project schedule. Additionally, overcoming material challenges that blanket the current market, and finally coordinating work around patients and active nurse care.
